Event Description:
Join us for information on Work and School Accommodations. Many Students or Employees with autism require some type of accommodation in their school/employment. Some of those accommodations are easy and inexpensive to implement, while other accommodations require a more thoughtful plan. If you are an individual with ASD or a caretaker/parent, come learn about what you can do to improve environment and relations by planning and requesting accommodations. Prospective Employers come to learn about the benefits of including people with autism on your team! Topics will include: · What are accommodations o How they differ from an IEP or 504 plan o Work vs. post-secondary school · Why accommodations are important · Why you should ask · Your responsibilities · Specific steps to take · Protecting your rights · Example accommodations
